This is a single-vintage Bas Armagnac from Domaine Couloumé, distilled in 1990, aged 31 years and bottled by L'Encantada at a cask strength of 57.1% ABV. Only 512 bottles were filled.
It was distilled from Baco and Ugni Blanc in a traditional continuous Armagnac alembic and rested for over three decades in local black Gascon oak. It is bottled without filtration, colouring or sugar dosage.
The nose is dark, with espresso, brown sugar, frankincense, dried mandarin peel and caramelised wood resin. The palate is rich and viscous, with dark maple syrup, roasted coffee, sweet cream, ripe blackberries and candied citrus. The finish is long, with bitter cocoa, mandarin, light tannic grip and a dry, resinous warmth.
