Laberdolive 2003 Bas-Armagnac Domaine de Jaurrey (70cl)

This is a 2003 vintage Bas-Armagnac from the Laberdolive family, now in its seventh generation at the estate. It has spent 23 years maturing in Gascon oak from the property, with no additives or colouring. The grapes grew in the sables fauves, the golden sandy soils of Labastide d'Armagnac. 2003 was the hottest summer in Europe since reliable records began, and the heat shows in the glass. The Armagnac is ripe and powerful, with a richer, bolder, more concentrated and less delicate character than a cooler year would give.
