A Bas Armagnac from Domaine de Jaurrey, distilled in 1942 and bottled by the Laberdolive family in 2022 after eighty years in seasoned oak barrels.
The long maturation has brought out rancio and dried fruit character. The nose is peppery with caraway seed, rye bread, oak and pear drop. The palate is rich and concentrated, moving from bittersweet to sweet, with bacon fat, almond butter, vanilla and palm oil alongside the rancio.
The finish is honeyed, warming and full of dried fruit.
