This is the 2022 Special Release of Lagavulin 12 Year Old, bottled at cask strength, 57.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The 12 year old appears in the Diageo Special Release series from year to year.
For this edition the whisky was drawn from the smokiest Lagavulin stocks, and whisky matured in virgin oak was added to the blend. It belongs to the 2022 collection called Elusive Expressions, put together by blender Dr Craig Wilson, whose theme is mythical creatures. The label carries illustrations by digital artists Ken Taylor and Kevin Tong.
