Lagavulin 12 Year Old Special Release 2023 is an Islay single malt, a limited edition bottled at natural cask strength, in a 70cl bottle. It has the peat Lagavulin is known for, with extra intensity.
The nose is smoky, like a bonfire, with sea spray and a hint of sweet fruit behind the peat. The palate is led by peat, smooth rather than harsh, with rich barbecue smoke and dark chocolate. The finish is long and warming.
