Lagavulin 12 Year Old is a 2022 Special Releases single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, in a 70cl bottle.
It is described as a classic Lagavulin in which intensity, saltiness and sweetness balance, with perfumed wood smoke rising over them. The character is clean, fresh and maritime.
The nose brings sea air, Himalayan salt, smoke-dried Lapsang Souchong tea and mineral salts. Beneath these sit drier notes of cocoa powder and dried seaweed, with a squeeze of lemon zest and the wood smoke of a distant bonfire on the shore.
