This is Lagavulin 12 Year Old from the 2021 Diageo Special Releases, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured entirely in refill casks and bottled at its natural cask strength of 56.5%. The packaging shows a lion, taken from a fable in which the animal takes centre stage.
The nose is sweet seaweed, lemon zest, bonfire smoke, dried seagrass and Himalayan salt. The palate is soft and oily, with fine sweetness, lemon, sea salt and a trace of charcoal. The finish is long, smoky and sweet, with warming chilli.
