This is a Lagavulin single malt aged for 16 years, released to mark the 2017 Islay Jazz Festival. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 56.1% in a 70cl bottle, in an edition of 6,000 bottles.
The whisky was matured twice, in American oak and in Moscatel casks.
The nose combines clear peat smoke with sweet fruit and a little spice. The palate is rich and rounded, with caramel, vanilla and plenty of dried fruit. The finish is long, with smoky depth and a sweet aftertaste.
