Lagavulin The Ink of Legends is a 12-year-old Islay single malt from the 2023 Special Release series, bottled at natural cask strength of 56.4% ABV (112.8 proof) in a 75cl bottle. It was finished in Don Julio Anejo tequila casks.
The Malt Master took inspiration from the ancient Mesoamerican art of tattoo, and from the intensity and pride in a Lagavulin history more than 200 years long.
The nose shows carbolic soap and driftwood bonfire smoke. The palate is creamy and citrus-sweet, with salt and juicy plum, and the finish is long, salty and very smoky.
