Lagavulin 16 Years Old is an Islay single malt aged in oak casks for at least sixteen years. It has the heavy peat smoke typical of southern Islay, together with a dryness that sets it apart.
The colour is deep amber gold and the body is full and rich. The nose is peat smoke with iodine and seaweed, the palate is dry smoke with a gentle sweetness followed by sea salt, and the finish is long and peaty with salt and seaweed.
