This is a 16 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is described as intensely peated, with an amber colour.
The smoke is slow to arrive. The nose opens with very old Sauternes, then cognac, cooking chocolate and the scent of clover flowers, with the smokiness showing only as light Lapsang Souchong tea. The palate starts sweet and finishes darkly smoky.
