Lagavulin – 16 Years Classic Malts

Lagavulin 16 Years is an Islay single malt, bottled here in the Classic Malts series. The malt is dried with a high level of smoke, and the distillery's pear-shaped stills carry all the flavour compounds over to the condensers. The spirit then matures in bourbon and sherry casks. It has a deep amber-gold colour. The nose is very smoky and concentrated, with iodine, sweet spices, ripe sherry and creamy vanilla. The palate is dense and rich, with malt and sherry, fruity sweetness, and big peat and oak. The finish is long and spicy, with figs, dates, peat smoke and vanilla.
