A limited edition Lagavulin 8 Year Old, released to mark 200 years since John Johnston founded the distillery in 1816. It is bottled at 48%, a higher strength than the distillery usually uses.
The age looks back to the 1880s, when Alfred Barnard visited Lagavulin and singled out an eight-year-old in his writing. This bottling pays tribute to the anniversary with eight years of maturation.
It is described as smoky, with sweetly spicy notes.
