Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It first appeared in 2016 as the 200th Anniversary Edition and was later added to the distillery's permanent core range.
The nose is salted popcorn, honey-roasted nuts, tarry rope and fresh-cut cedar, with a lingering touch of burnt sugar. Smoky peat leads the palate, followed by coriander seed, barley sugar, cumin, smoked kipper and marzipan. The finish brings apple crumble, toasted almond and ash, with cooking spices at the very end.
