Lagavulin 8 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled by the distillery itself, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV.
The nose has salted popcorn, nuts roasted in honey, chocolate, leather and a trace of freshly cut cedar, with a lingering sweetness of burnt sugar. The palate opens with smoky peat, followed by coriander seed, barley sugar, cumin, smoked kipper and marzipan.
The finish is long, smoky and sweet, with apple crumble, roasted almonds and ash, and another wave of cooking spices.
