A 2021 Lagavulin Distillers Edition, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle at 43%. The whisky was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2021, as batch lgv.4/510.
It was given a second maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, which adds a richer, sweeter side to the distillery's smoke.
On the nose there is sweet peat smoke with raisins, PX sherry, sea breeze and dried fruit. The palate is full and round, with soft smoke, caramel, mocha and figs. The finish is long, warm and sweetly smoky.
