Lagavulin 'Grain & Embers' is a 12 year old Islay single malt Scotch whisky, part of Diageo's Special Releases collection for 2025. It is bottled at natural cask strength in a 75cl bottle.
This release sets Lagavulin's maritime peat smoke against toasted grain and oak spice. It is pale amber with deep golden highlights, and oily and full-bodied in the mouth.
The nose combines peat smoke, sea salt, charred oak, toasted grain, campfire embers and light citrus peel. The palate is intense and warming, with malted grain, peat, salted caramel, pepper and oak tannin. The finish is long and smoky, with sea salt, dry peat embers and warm spice.
