Lambay – Malt Irish Whiskey Cognac Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

An Irish malt whiskey from Lambay, triple distilled, matured in bourbon barrels and then finished in Cognac casks on the private island of Lambay. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The salty sea air and mild Irish climate of the island are credited with a fresh, maritime touch, while the Cognac finish adds fruitiness and a creamy texture. The nose brings vanilla, citrus, light spices and soft wood. The palate has honey, apple, apricot and sweet malt, with a subtle spiciness and a soft Cognac note. The finish is medium to long and mildly fruity, with fresh oak and a touch of the maritime.
