Langatun – 2016 Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask Finish Single Malt (50cl)

This is a 2016 single malt from Langatun in a 50cl bottle, limited to around 490 bottles. It was first aged in a Chardonnay cask, then spent a few more months in a Pedro Ximenez American oak sherry cask for its finish. The Chardonnay cask adds a delicate sweetness with vanilla and wood notes, and the sherry finish adds further aromas. The nose has spicy sherry, fine oak and a hint of lavender. The palate shows sherry spice and pink peppery notes alongside salted caramel. The finish is long, with typical sherry character.
