This is a 28 year old single malt from Laphroaig. It spent 27 years in quarter casks, bourbon barrels and sherry butts, then was finished in sherry casks.
The nose offers red apples and honey, with the characteristic Laphroaig phenolic bite softened over time. The palate has dried fruit, malt and vanilla, with light iodine and warm tar. Brine, dark chocolate and liquorice develop towards a dry, smoky, peppery finish.
