Laphroaig Quarter Cask is an Islay single malt, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured first in traditional oak casks and then moved into smaller quarter casks. The extra contact with the wood gives a richer, fuller and smoother whisky, while the coastal character of Laphroaig remains.
On the palate there is strong peat smoke, medicinal notes and sea salt, balanced by sweet vanilla, toasted oak and a hint of coconut. The finish is long, warming and smoky, with lingering peat and a gentle sweetness.
