Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 46%)

Larceny Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Heaven Hill, in a 75cl bottle at 92 proof. It is a wheated bourbon: wheat takes the place of the rye usually found in the mash bill. The name nods to John E. Fitzgerald, the Treasury Agent who supposedly used his keys to take the best barrels for himself. The nose offers fresh baked bread, butterscotch, warm honey and light oak. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, with caramel, honeyed vanilla and dark fruit against gentle oak tannins. The finish is long and sweet, with a buttery note.
