A Barolo DOCG from Piero Benevelli, vintage 2020. It opens with notes of ripe cherry, rose petal, an earthy undergrowth note and light sweet spices. Freshness and body are balanced, with acidity supporting the palate and well-worked tannin giving structure without heaviness. The palate is savoury and consistent with the aromas, with a silky tannic texture, red fruit returns and bitter notes that lengthen the finish. It benefits from decanting before serving and pairs with braised meat, stewed game or aged cheeses.
