Lecompte 5 Year Old is a Calvados from the Pays d'Auge appellation in Normandy, made by a house founded in 1923 in Notre-Dame de Courson. Pays d'Auge requires double distillation in copper pot stills.
The aroma suggests baked apple and caramel with a hint of cedar. On the palate a resinous note leads into cedar, spice and chamomile tea.
It finishes with dried apricot, cooked banana and vanilla.
