Refill sherry butt
This is a single cask Ledaig, the peated malt made at the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull. It was distilled in 2008, aged for 12 years and bottled in 2020 by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. The whisky comes from a single refill sherry butt, number DL14561, which gave 375 bottles. It is bottled at 48.4% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is oily and smoky, ashy and sooty, with a beachy, oceanic edge and peated barley. On the palate that oil coats the mouth with rather sweet, coal-dusted phenolic flavours, and the finish runs long and ends on ash.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
