Lentz Crémant d'Alsace Brut

This is a Crémant d'Alsace Brut from Lentz, a label owned by the Bestheim winery near Colmar. The base wine is made from Pinot Blanc. After the traditional fermentation it rests in the bottle on its lees and is riddled slowly, then disgorged, as in Champagne. It is pale gold in the glass with a persistent stream of bubbles. The nose is elegant, with raspberry and nuts. The palate is well balanced and lingering, with a pleasant acidity that keeps it fresh and delicate. Serve it at 8-10°C as an aperitif or with desserts.
