Leopold Bros. – Distillery Reserve Maryland Style Rye

This is a rye whiskey from Leopold Bros., made in the Maryland style. For more than a century Maryland distilleries produced a rye known for a floral nose and a soft palate of dried fruit, until the last of them closed in 1972 after Prohibition and a shift in taste towards lighter spirits. Leopold Bros. revives that style as a tribute to those distillers. The mash bill is 65% rye, 20% of the distillery's own floor malt and 15% corn.
