Limeburners – Darkest Winter Cask Strength Western Australian Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 63.4%)

Limeburners Darkest Winter is a peated Western Australian single malt, bottled at a cask strength of 63.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The malt is smoked with Western Australian peat for an extended period, and the whisky is matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels. It is bottled as individually numbered cask expressions, so the strength varies slightly from batch to batch. In 2017 it was named World's Best International Craft Whisky at the USA ADI spirits competition. The nose shows toasted maple and freshly cut straw. On the palate there is a silky sweetness and notes of crushed almond, with a warming smokiness developing.
