Lindemans Framboise (75cl, 2.5%)

This is a Belgian raspberry lambic from Brouwerij Lindemans of Vlezenbeek, bottled at 2.5% in a 75cl bottle. The base beer is spontaneously fermented with wild yeast from the Senne Valley, using local barley and unmalted wheat. Raspberry juice is added at 30% by volume before the beer is filtered and pasteurised, and it is sweetened with Stevia. The nose is ripe raspberry with a little caramel and a light acidity. The palate balances sweet and tart, with juicy raspberry, a touch of wild yeast and lively carbonation. The finish is medium-short, with a sour edge and a dry, slightly tart close.
