Living Souls 'Kildalton' 19 Years Old Blended Malt (42%)

Living Souls 'Kildalton' is a 19 year old blended malt made from Islay single malt matured in refill bourbon and sherry casks, described as a 'teaspooned Ardbeg'. It is bottled at 42% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, as part of the first batch of Living Souls releases. The name honours the Kildalton Cross, an intricately carved Celtic cross from the 8th century that stands near Ardbeg distillery on Islay. It is more than 2.6 metres tall and has stood in its original place for over 1,200 years. The nose suggests a walk along the beach, with salty air and an old wooden rowing boat. The palate is creamy, like liquorice ice cream, its sweetness set against a salty breeze. The finish is rich and peaty.
