Lochlea – 2018/2025 7 Year Old First Fill Bourbon Barrels (70cl, 50%)

This is a seven-year-old Lowland single malt from Lochlea Distillery, distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2025 at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in seven first-fill bourbon casks and is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The bourbon wood puts fruit, vanilla and the malty side of the Lochlea spirit to the fore, with apple and tropical fruit alongside creamy, spicy cask notes. The nose is stewed apple, vanilla and creamy notes. The palate has tropical fruit, ripe apple and gentle oak, and the finish is long, with pastry, spice and green apple.
