Lochlea 7 (2018/2025) – 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels (70cl, 50%)

Lochlea 7 is a single malt from a farm distillery whose single estate whisky grows from the same fields once worked by Robert Burns. It was launched for Burns's birthday as the distillery's oldest bottling to date. It was distilled in 2018, bottled in 2025 at 50% and comes in a 70cl bottle. It was vatted from seven first fill bourbon casks, among the first that Lochlea ever filled, and has a golden colour. The nose is creamy and buttery with stewed apple. The palate is full and creamy, with tropical fruit and a touch of apple and oak. The finish stays buttery, with butter pastry, cereal, spices and tart green apple slices.
