Lochlea – Cask Strength Batch 1 (60.1%)

Batch 1 is the first cask strength whisky from Lochlea, the Kilmarnock distillery, and the opening bottling in a new annual limited edition cask strength series. It is bottled at 60.1% after maturing in a combination of first-fill bourbon and refill oloroso casks. The nose is spiced stewed fruit, candied orange and a touch of tobacco. On the palate there is plenty of fruit with walnut, a little cocoa powder and oak vanilla, and the finish brings sticky toffee and sweet spice.
