Lochlea – Cask Strength Batch 1 (60.1%)

Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 1 is the first in an annual series of limited cask strength bottlings from the Lochlea distillery in the Lowlands. It is bottled at 60.1%. The batch combines first-fill bourbon casks with Oloroso sherry casks. Master blender John Campbell and his team selected them. The colour is dark gold. The nose is spiced fruit compote, candied orange and a hint of tobacco. The palate is full of fruit, with walnut, a little cocoa powder and oaky vanilla. The finish is sticky toffee and sweet spice.
