Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3 is the third annual cask-strength release from Lochlea, a Lowland single malt made from estate-grown malted barley and released in 2025. It combines whisky matured in Oloroso sherry butts with whisky from ex-Islay peated whisky casks, and is bottled at 59.8% without chill filtration or added colouring.
The nose pairs red fruits and cherries with smoky bacon and gentle barbecue smoke. On the palate are ripe cherries, dark berries, molasses, ginger cake and toasted rye. The finish is long, with baking spices, salty smoke and oak, and floral notes of red rose.
