Lochlea – Fallow Edition 3rd Crop 2024 (70cl, 46%)

The Fallow Edition (Third Crop) is the closing bottling of the Small Batch series from Lochlea, an independent, family-run farm distillery in the Lowlands, south of Glasgow. It is dedicated to the end of the harvest season. The whisky matured in first fill Oloroso sherry butts, which give it a rich, fruity and spicy character. It is bottled at 46%, natural colour and not chill-filtered. The nose has baked apple and sweet Medjool dates. The palate brings Manuka honey and nutty, fresh malt bread. The finish is buttery, with sandalwood oil and a pleasant spice of mixed peppercorns.
