Lochlea Fallow Edition is a single malt from Lochlea, a farm distillery in Ayrshire, and part of the First Crop series. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The barley is grown on Lochlea Farm, and the whisky was matured in Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at natural colour.
The nose is rich dried fruit and honey with warm spices, including nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, raisins, caramelised orange and a nutty note from the Oloroso. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, gentle oak spice and a touch of sweet maltiness.
