Lochlea – Harvest Edition 1st Crop Lowlands Single Malt Scotch Whisky (46%)

Harvest Edition is the fourth official release from Lochlea, a farm distillery in the south of Scotland. It is the second bottling in the distillery's first annual series of seasonal limited editions, inspired by the end of summer, when the barley is ready for harvest. The whisky is a vatting of ex-port, ex-oloroso sherry and ex-bourbon casks, selected by John Campbell. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. The nose brings stewed apples, pear drops and oatcakes, with red fruits developing. The palate shows ripe strawberries, violets, toasted marshmallow, fresh-cut grass and sweet cereal, and the finish is lingeringly fruity with light spice.
