Lochlea – Harvest Edition 3rd Crop Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Lochlea Harvest Edition 3rd Crop is a single malt from the independent, family-run farm distillery in Ayrshire. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The whisky was matured in refill bourbon barrels and port hogsheads, together with an oloroso sherry butt. The edition draws on the harvest season, when the barley for the following year's whisky is brought in under summer sunsets. The nose is lively with red grapes, fresh strawberry jam and cream. On the palate it turns sweeter, with baked apple pie and white chocolate. The finish is well balanced, with freshly ground black pepper.
