Lochlea – Harvest Edition First Crop 2022 (46%)

Lochlea Harvest Edition First Crop is a single malt bottled at 46%, inspired by harvest time on Lochlea Farm, when the barley is cut and set aside for a future year's whisky. Its ashy coral red label and carton recall summer sunsets and the Ayrshire soil. It was matured in port wine, Oloroso sherry butts and first-fill bourbon casks, and is natural colour and not chill-filtered. 9,000 bottles were released worldwide. The nose is fresh red apple, pear drops and oatcakes. Strawberry, violet and toasted marshmallow come through on the palate. The finish is light and delicately sweet, with juicy strawberry notes lingering.
