The first seasonal Harvest Edition from Lochlea, a farm distillery in Ayrshire. The barley comes from Lochlea Farm, land once farmed by the poet Robert Burns. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and at natural colour, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in first-fill port, sherry and bourbon casks chosen to reflect the harvest season.
The nose offers fresh harvest fruits, warm honey, nutmeg and dried autumn berries. On the palate are ripe red apple, rich toffee, gentle spice and warming oak, with orchard fruits and a little chocolate. The finish is long and balanced, with sweet spice, dried fruits and toasted oak.
