Lochlea – Harvest Edition Second Crop (46%)

Second Crop is a Lochlea single malt from the Scottish farm distillery's 2023 seasonal releases. The Harvest Edition takes its inspiration from the busy harvest season, when barley for the following year's whisky is brought in under summer sunsets. Lochlea is independent and family run, and it grows its own barley. The whisky was vatted from port casks, STR barriques and first-fill bourbon casks, with a much larger share of port casks than before. Bottled at 46% ABV. The port casks add creaminess and notes of dates and ripe red grapes, while the STR barriques bring a peppery spice.
