Lochlea – Orchard & Oak - Bourbon, New Oak & Calvados Casks

Orchard & Oak is a Lowland single malt from Lochlea, matured in a combination of Bourbon, new oak and Calvados casks. Lochlea is an independent, family-run single estate distillery. Its barley is grown on its own fields, then harvested, distilled and matured on site. Robert Burns farmed the same land between 1777 and 1784. The nose offers green apples and soft caramel, with spicy oak and a hint of earthiness. On the palate there is creamy fudge and ripe apple, with a firm oak structure. The finish is long, with bright citrus, cereal notes and a sweet oak close.
