Lochlea – Orchard & Oak (70cl, 46%)

Orchard & Oak is a single malt from Lochlea, a family-run single estate distillery near Craigie in Ayrshire, in the Lowlands. It is part of the distillery's permanent core range and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky combines spirit from first-fill bourbon casks, new American oak casks and Calvados casks. It is bottled in natural colour and without chill-filtration. The nose offers sweet apples, freshly cut grass, delicate floral notes and earthy orchard fruit. On the palate, green apple and butterscotch meet grassy freshness, oak spice, apple pie and creamy fruit sweetness. The finish is sweet oak and caramel with light cereal notes and gentle spice.
