Lochlea Ploughing Edition – First Crop is a single malt from the Ayrshire farm distillery and the first of its seasonal releases. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The whisky was matured in ex-Islay whisky casks and peated quarter casks. It is made from Scottish barley, much of it grown on the distillery's own farm. The nose is gentle peat smoke, toasted barley, orchard fruits and honey, with a maritime touch. The palate brings warming spices, caramelised apples and vanilla custard alongside a balanced smokiness. The finish is medium to long, with smoke, dried fruit and oak spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
