Lochlea – Ploughing Edition First Crop

Lochlea Ploughing Edition First Crop is a single malt from the Lochlea distillery in the Lowlands, and the fourth in an annual series of limited seasonal bottlings. It was inspired by the winter season on the farm, when the fields are ploughed ready for spring barley. The icy blue label reflects the cold winters on the Ayrshire coast. The nose offers earthy peat, warm apple pie, dark caramelised sugar and cinnamon. On the palate the bonfire smoke stays balanced, alongside spiced stewed apple, roasted nuts and buttery shortbread. The finish is damp embers with warming allspice.
