Lochlea – Ploughing Edition Third Crop (70cl, 46%)

Ploughing Edition Third Crop is a single malt from Lochlea, a distillery on a working farm in South Ayrshire. It is the smokiest Lochlea bottling to date and closes the seasonal edition series. It matured in former Islay casks that held peated whisky, and is a year older than the 2023 Ploughing Edition. The barley comes from Lochlea Farm. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Green apple, sweet toffee and a grainy note mark the nose. On the palate fresh fruit meets savoury smoke and malty pastry, and the long finish brings sea salt and a trace of peat.
