Lochlea – Sowing Edition First Crop (48%)

Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop is a 3 year old single malt bottled at 48% ABV. Distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2022, it is the first release in an annual series of seasonal bottlings, with spring as the theme of the Sowing Edition. It matured wholly in first-fill Bourbon casks, and 7,000 bottles were filled. The nose brings green apples, citrus, vanilla and heather honey. The palate has white pepper, pickled pears and vanilla, with rounded oak and a hint of thyme. The finish is lightly spiced and fruity, with Bourbon cask notes, English liquorice and mocha.
