Lochlea Sowing Edition First Crop is the first release in the distillery's seasonal series, a single malt in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. Lochlea sits on an Ayrshire farm where Robert Burns once lived and worked, and the barley comes from its own fields. The whisky was matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks. John Campbell, formerly of Laphroaig, is the distillery manager. The nose is orchard fruits, honey, vanilla custard and gentle spice. On the palate come sweet malt, ripe apples, poached pears and honey, with a creamy texture. The finish is medium to long, with sweet barley, vanilla and a touch of white pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
