Lucky Seven The Frenchman is a cask-strength Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 56.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from a mashbill of 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malted barley, and finished in new French oak casks.
Before finishing, each barrel is sampled and blended with others of similar profile. Master blender Ashley Barnes then tastes the whiskey daily to decide when it has taken enough from the oak.
The nose has French ground cinnamon, cedar, toasted marshmallow, brown sugar and dried cherry. The palate brings smoked maple syrup, pecans, caramel and peaches. The finish is long, with gingerbread, pipe tobacco and a light spearmint note.
